| AK Steel posts December surcharges for electrical steel
AK Steel has posted its December surcharge on its stainless steel and electrical steel products, and the surcharge for the latter reached US$185/ton.
The steel prices with new surcharges will be applied to sales of December shipment.
As usual the new surcharge was determined by the cost of raw materials and energy in the production estimated in the October, 2009.
AK steel is one of the few biggest steelmakers in the US, and the company is specializing in carbon steel, stainless steel and electrical steel. Beside automotive area, electrical power equipments area is also its chief clients.
